A lovely card handcrafted by myself and then showcased at a recent event where all the ladies recreated this for themselves. A really good opportunity to test out some great techniques and I have to say it was very successful. I think receiving a handmade christmas card is just lovely and feels very personal.
Very simple to make and requires a Piece of Black card slightly smaller than you card front, I used a face cloth to make the snowy effect by dabbing it into the ink pad then onto the card. Then using a circular hole punch into the front. Using whisper white card stock for the feature plate and using the adorable Holiday Home stamp set from the AW catalogue, stamp an image to your liking and place the whisper white panel behind the black. Next stamp your sentiment on to the black card....i used the versamark glue pad and then embossed using the white embossing powder and the heat gun *cheeky tip.....the heat gun is an awesome christmas gift, so useful and fun to use!!! I then used a piece of crochet trim ribbon to wrap around the black card before sticking the black card to the white card. I used sticky 3d pads (called Stampin Dimensionals) to add some great dimension. The other half of the sentiment used above which is in the same stamp kit I stamped on the inside in a lovely Real Red Ink. And thats it!!!! Below is a list of materials i used for your information and please let me know if you have any questions....always happy to hear from you!
